jazz piano, final

  Here she is on site!
Grace attempts to play a knitted version of chopsticks!

The Garter Gang are very proud of their cosy creation, it was a wonderful experience for all three of us and one we hope to continue with future projects. Until then Jen, Esther and Grace are back to their normal knitting lives making socks, jumpers and wooly accessories!
A big thank you to Clarence City Council, Rosny Farm, Alice from the Mercury, Ryk Goddard from the ABC and all those that went along to the Jazz festival and left comments on our face book page!

taking shape

Yesterday the Garter Gang met up for a quick look at our finished pieces and works in progress, pinning parts on the old girl to see how she's looking. Pretty good I think!
The keyboard is almost completed and stitching up the panels has begun. Next weeks meet up should be very exciting, so stay tuned!

In three, free time

The Garter Gang take five for a photo shoot...thank you Tristan

Our big knit jazz piano is progressing along at a rapid pace, aided by the hot syncopation of Charlie, 'Bird'' Parker, and his bebop band singing out "Salt Peanuts, Salt Peanuts"
So far we've finished the top, back, sides and legs.
The colours are working really well, we're all pretty happy how our hand dyed yarn turned out. We like the variegation of colour and think it adds an extra layer of interest.
More updates to come.....
